HFC refrigerants and POE oils (Polyol
Ester oils) have now largely replaced
HCFC/CFC refrigerants and mineral oils.
They have created new possibilities, but
also new problems. Filter driers with
high moisture adsorption have become
a must and the polar molecular struc-tures
in refrigerants and oils mean that
activated aluminium oxide has been
made redundant as the desiccant in
filter driers. At the same time, sight
glasses must react to moisture percen-tages
much lower than before.
